A few weeks ago, I was really craving a chocolately dessert to make for Mackenzie and I. I didn't have any chocolate chips or baking chocolate but did have cocoa powder and I wanted to find a recipe that worked for what I had in our house. So, I searched the internet, went to a website that I frequent, All Recipes, and found the perfect one!
Here's the recipe courtesy of All Recipes! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes, then spoon into dessert dishes or cut into squares. Invert each square onto dessert plate, then spoon sauce over each serving (makes it's own sauce while cooking). Top with ice cream or whipped topping, if desired.
Enjoy!
I'll be working today and then this evening, we'll be spending the night with Mackenzie's parents! Mackenzie will be leaving early to go fishing with his dad on Saturday and Sharon and I will be hosting a tea at her house! It'll be a busy, yet fun weekend!
Don't forget to join me for Worship and Praise Sunday this Sunday!

Brittany--
I am slow to comment, but I have enjoyed your last few posts! What a sweet husband to give you that beautiful necklace! How funny that he was saving that gift for you--my husband does things like that just to see my reaction! I fall for it every time! How beautiful the pictures of the Oregon Coast are! We live near the water--but our beaches are quite different. How cute the seals are! Thanks for the info about the signature--I'll have to try that! The dessert recipe looks very delicious--we love chocolate! God bless you and your husband!

Mmm. This looks so good. I'm going to try it. Brittany, I want to play this wonderful group on my playlist. I love their songs and voices. Two of my favorites are: "When Two Or More.." and "Focus On Clarity." This awesome group is called Voice To Spirit. How do I get their wonderful songs on my playlist? Is there any hope? I would like to share this on my Worship and Praise Sunday. Can you help me? Hugs, Kathi
