Shopping with Sharon

Hi there! I'm sorry it's been a few days since I've posted. Just took a short break as I have been pretty busy lately. I've also been feeling a bit under the weather. I think the cold season is upon us. Hopefully I'll shake whatever this is.

I went shopping with Sharon the day after Christmas to goodwill. She said they always have great bargains on their Christmas items. On this day, everything was 50% off! I'm new to the thrift shopping world and I have found it to be really fun! Especially as newlyweds, Mackenzie and I are on a tight budget. So buying things a goodwill really helps us out!

Here are most of the items I bought. I actually made out pretty well and only spent $20! I found this antique Better Homes and Garden's New Garden Book. Guess how much it cost me?? .....50 cents! Crazy, huh? Sharon said you can normally find it at antique stores for about $20-30! My husband and I are going to start landscaping our yard and planting a garden in the spring. I have a feeling this book will really come in handy! I found these cute snowflakes for Christmas decorations next year. I thought I would hang them inside, in front of our kitchen window...maybe it will help the snow come! ha
I found these cute matching reindeer coffee mugs. Mackenzie likes ones with that are big with big handles. :) He said these were just right! I like them too because we have a pretty modern style and these go well with it!

And, I found this great wreath! I really wanted to find one with all red berries but this one will do the trick. With the right price too...$3.00! It could be used year round but we'll probably just use it for Christmas.

Later, Sharon and I went to this cute Antique shop. Not only do they sell antiques, but they are a tea shop as well. They are open for lunch and we were going to stop there for a little snack and some tea. Unfortunately, they stop serving at 4 and we got there at 4:30! :( We'll just have to make another trip there.

Anyway, it's a great place to get ideas if you like to collect antiques.

Here's Sharon holding a neat jar with a vintage picture of Santa Claus. We thought we might be able to make it ourselves.

They have so many different themed areas....here's a kitchen one.
They also have a garden area and areas set up for Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc.

After our time browsing in the store, Sharon and I went to an old drive-in diner and had dinner. It was so cute. Sharon has pictures from there so maybe she'll do a post on it! Hint hint!

Have a wonderful week!
