Today I am sharing "In Christ Alone" written by Stuart Townsend. This version is performed by Avalon.
***Please pause the music in my sidebar before listening.

In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

As Easter is drawing nearer, this song comes to mind. It is so powerful to me. My favorite verses are "In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground" and "No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand; till He returns or calls me home- here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand."

Have a blessed Sunday!

the end is special to me right now as some of my loved ones are going through some difficult things. "no power of hell, no schemes of man . . . [because] in the power of Christ we'll stand!"

I like that song Brittany. I think it's an old hymn. How was your Saturday? We worked hard around the house all day and had 6 people for dinner last night. It was really, really special and fun. We're picking up Gray from the train depot today. Would you and Kenz like to come over tonight?

Love you!

Wonderful Song! I also love you favorite verse! The other verse I like was
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
Isn't it wonderful that we don't have to fear death because we know we will be going Home to our Father!
Have a blessed Sunday!

One of my favorite songs ever, Brittany! I saw Avalon a few years ago at a Women of Faith concert. Love 'em! I haven't been able to participate in a few weeks b/c of Sunday business (Libby-ness, LOL) but I hope to again! Have a great week!
