Family, Baking, Fun

Sunday after church, Mackenzie's parents and 2 brothers, Cameron and Hayden came over to see our Christmas decorations. Grayson was snowboarding with this sweetie Rachelle, so he wasn't able to join us. First actually, we all went over to Cameron's to see his decorations. I didn't get any pictures. :( However, he did a really nice job decorating!

Everyone hung out for a bit and the guys played the Wii, while I showed Sharon some more updates on our home.

Afterward, Sharon, Eric and I all went back to their house. The other guys would catch up with us later. Sharon and I put on The Christmas Story and got to work baking!

We made 3 types of bark:

The first was a white chocolate with cinnamon candies

Second, was a Rocky Road - chocolate with peanuts, marshmellows, and raisins.

Third was a chocolate with pretzels.

We wrapped them up in cute Christmas plates she found at goodwill and planned on giving them to our friends and neighbors. The plate idea is neat - you buy the plates so cheap at goodwill or some other thrift store and then give them to your friends as gifts in addition to the candy.

It was so fun spending this time with Sharon. She was able to share some of her family traditions, like the bark and next year, I'm going to share some of the cookies my mom and sister and I made growing up! It's neat how we can share that with one another and teach each other new things. Side note: I do not like this picture of me! :) It's the only one that turned out though. I really need to trim those bangs soon! haha

Here's my funny husband trying to sneak just a little....

After the bark, we put together these cookie mixes

They are so fun and easy. You just add all the dry ingredients for the type of cookie you choose and then give the person who is receiving it a little recipe on what to add. It's so nice to have it all ready for them and so simple to put together!

Have a wonderful last few days before Christmas!

Everytime I read about Sharon, Kathi or now you I get tears in my eyes, happy tears not sad ones. Yes Avery loved singing she sang so loud, she enjoys singing she always is making up little songs. i wish I could afford singing lessons. I think being involved with the church is a blessing. I want my daughter to grow up loving God at a young age and making the right choices in life as you have:))) Merry Christmas
